The Joint Communication, Social Justice and Democracy IAMCR Working Group conference & ECREA 2026 pre-conference focuses on the constructive force of hope, addressing visions, discourses, and practices of hope for democracy, peace, and justice, as articulated in media representations and communicative practices. It will feature a presentation by Martina Hrgović on evaluating multilingual online deliberation design for peacebuilding and a prestentation by Lungta Seki on the opposition discourse across communicative arenas in Turkey.
Martina Hrgović is a PhD candidate at the Institute of Journalism, University of the Bundeswehr Munich. She is an academic researcher and assistant professor with a professional background in digital and multimedia journalism. Her work focuses on media innovation, press freedom, and the safety of journalists.
Lungta Seki is a PhD candidate at the Koç University in Istanbul. His interests include Turkish politics, Türkiye-West relations and political communication.
