Johana Bazlerová: Czech Citizen Parliament on Media and Democracy (MeDeMAP research project)
In 2025, CULCORC organized a Citizens’ Parliament on the role of media in a democratic society. Twenty selected citizens took part in four meetings, discussing the Czech media landscape and formulating 31 concrete recommendations to strengthen the role of media in supporting democracy. The project, carried out within the framework of the European MeDeMAP initiative and organized by CULCORC (Research Centre for Culture and Communication) at the Institute of Communication Studies and Journalism, Faculty of Social Sciences, demonstrates how deliberative forums can complement traditional democratic institutions and enhance public participation.
