Johana Bazlerová: Citizens’ Parliament Shows How Ordinary People Can Shape Media and Democratic Policy
The Czech Citizens’ Parliament was recently organized as a part of the MeDeMAP project. In this parliament, participants from across the Czech Republic met over four weekends to discuss key issues and develop recommendations, reports Johana Bazlerová. Participants accepted 31 proposals ranging from protecting journalists from harassment lawsuits to supporting regional media to more diverse representation in public newsrooms.
