The Joint Communication, Social Justice and Democracy IAMCR Working Group conference & ECREA 2026 pre-conference focuses on the constructive force of hope, addressing visions, discourses, and practices of hope for democracy, peace, and justice, as articulated in media representations and communicative practices. It featured presentation by Giulia Ferri on media literacy and the unequal conditions of democratic imagination.
Giulia Ferri is a PhD Candidate at IULM University (Milan). Also, she was a MeDeMAP Research Fellow, a Research Assistant on projects about technological advancements in journalism at the Institute of Media and Journalism of Università della Svizzera Italiana (USI), and a Teaching Assistant for courses on journalism, datafication, and digital cultures. She also collaborates with the European Journalism Observatory as an editor and an author.
