Conservation by restitution. Returning colonial collections to Africa
Lenka Marxová talks to Benjamin Quedraogo, Burkinabe museologist, journalist, and ICOM-member, about symbolic and physical violence inherent in colonial processes, and complex issues surrounding the restitution of African cultural heritage looted during the colonial period.
Lenka Marxová is a PhD student at the Institute of Communication Studies and Journalism at Charles University. Her research focuses on the construction of identity, gender studies, post-colonial studies, and visual communication.
